I've always loved the flavor of licorice. Whether it was the somewhat weaker flavor of licorice twists, or the more powerful licorice flavor in hard candy form, I just love it and it seems to soothe my cranky gut.
Unfortunately a very high percentage of the licorice products you see for sale in most places contains wheat, and so it is off limits to those of us with celiac disease. I have come across some brands of gluten free licorice in gourmet products and also candies from Europe and Australia.
